Mark Kirkbride grew up in Dorset in the UK. He studied English at Kingston and Thomas Hardy at Oxford. He now lives in London, where he works as a subtitle editor and is often in the odd position of having seen the book and read the film. He writes both fiction and poetry. And his poems have appeared in the Big Issue, the Morning Star, the Mirror and anthologies. Authors he admires include Mary Shelley, Poe, early Ian McEwan and Donna Tartt.
